I'm Just Curious, How Long will coralline algae live out of the water? I moved a tank years ago and it had really nice coralline on all the glass but after 48 hours out of water it all dried up and turned white eventually. I want to move my tank in the near future and don't want to kill all that pretty purple i worked hard to get. My next tank move won't take more then a half day, but I'm wondering if any one has done anything before to keep it alive on the glass during there move? Wet Newspaper or something? Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Back in the 90's we used to get live rock within 24 hours from Figi.

It came in boxes and each rock was wrapped in thick / moist newspaper. We'd have some die off, but the coralline would hold.

+1 soaked newspaper. Double/triple ply. If it stays wet, your good.
