First, thanks to anyone that reads this and is able to provide any help on this odd issue that i'm experiencing!

I own three A360 Kessil Tuna Blues. My lights go on around 10 AM and off around 6 PM. At 10 AM, both slaves go on but the master doesn't. But... If I detach the power connection from the light to the adapter cord, and simply plug it back in, it turns on! (with the intensity/color I have programmed - and it will adjust based on the different phases I have set.)

I understand these are kind of bizarre, but hopefully someone has some idea...

Depends on how you start the program. The lights aren’t exactly the same in terms of the intensity level that initially triggers them. Some may light at 10%, others at 12%. Let the program run for a bit after the initial on point and see if the lights all have come on.

Not sure what you mean by ‘master’ though. There has to be some kind of controller, either the Kessil one or an apex. There’s no control that I know in the lights themselves.

I'm running an Apex and referring to the light connected to Port 1 as the master. So its techically not the master, bad wording on my part. I know it does not go on because when I get home from work around 5 it is always shut off... :(

Like ca1ore said, the minimum is funky on these.

Have you tried the starting intensity at 15or 20?
I have not, but I have it set at 10% initially and it increases to 25% at 11 AM. So I would imagine it would come on at that point. I will give it a shot nonetheless, worth a shot I guess! :D

Hmmn, if adjusting the on level in the program fails to help, is the fan working properly? That’s the first thing that goes on these lights. Failing that, change the linking order of the lights and see if the problem follows the light. Also, try swapping the power bricks. You don’t say how old they are - not the longest lived lights IME.

I had problems with my initially due to low start and end intensity. I can't remember if one wouldn't turn on or not or if it would shutdown ealry. One or the other happened. Changing min intensity fixed it.

Have you tried designating a new master?
Technically its not a master since i'm running it through my Apex so I didn't communicated that poorly. Its the light that is directly connected to port 1 of my Kessil controller.

Have you tried to connect a different light to port 1 with the same results?

I would try that just to see if there was a difference since the light isn't coming on once the program ramps past 15%.

I still have one of mine that comes on 5 minutes after all the others .... interestingly it’s also the first light in the chain. Haven’t bothered to fix it.

They are about 2 1/2 years old. I had two of them on my other tank and just purchased a third. The one that is acting goofy is one of the two i've owned for a few years. I will check the fan now actually. They were both working perfectly with my prior tank (recently switched to a new and larger tank)..

Great call on the linking order - I will give that a shot tomorrow, if adjusting my startup intensity doesn't help. Thanks!!

Yeah, not to mention all three of my lights stay on about 12 minutes longer than I have them set for (set to off at 5:55, they always go off at 6:07). At least I can compensate for that, but it still bothers me why it happens lol. (And I have made sure my Kessil time is set correctly).

Going to up the startup intensity but will take that course of action if it doesn't work

As you can probably tell, I’vehad my fair share of grump Kessils LOL.

Well R2R buddies, I bumped starting intensity from 10% to 15% and that appears to have resolved my problem!!!

The lights went on yesterday morning and stayed on according to the program I set. They were all on when I got home from work as expected. One less weird issue to deal with, and one troubleshooting technique i'm now aware of!!

Thanks again everyone!! :D

Besides startup intensity and connection order, the only other thing you might try changing out are the connection cords themselves. I had a bad one that was a little corroded and had to swap it out.

Thank you for the reply, but the increase in startup intensity appears to have resolved the issue. Going on two days so hopefully it continues that way!
