Kessil H80 setting

I have had a rough time growing cheato. It doesnt really die... but doesnt really grow.... I cant remember where I read it (I believe here on R2R) A user stated that using the kessil H80 you should use the bloom setting over the grow setting because cheato responds better to the red light. Can anyone chime in or confirm this?
