Kessil lights

Should I lower my lights down because I thought that kessil said to put them 9 inches above the water line and that's where I have them and I'm only at 60 percent intensity so I gotta work my way up so I guess I can go up 5 every week right??

i am using a a160we on my im fusion 40. this is going to be a zoa tank and i am not sure what settings to use. i run the color at 20% and the intensity at 45% for 8 hours. i had a reef breeders photon 16 on my old tank and the zoas were happy. not sure yet on this tank. i will take any advise for settings if anyone has them.

Unless you just like the look of the lights at 20% color, there is no "need" to run them that blue.

I'm just trying to get the best growth out of my corals that's all I'm trying to do

I wouldn't over think this, I've never used a par meter but can tell you for sure the Kessils put out plenty of light to grow any kind of corals. I only have 160's but do have five over my 92g, and corals of all types grow from the bottom of the tank to the top. My current tank has been running for 2.5 years, and it's turned into a big cluster of all types of corals, but I like the way it's turned out.

awesome, what color and intensity are you running.

Really simple, 100% intensity from when they start turning on at 830am till they start turning off at 930pm. Color is all blue for the 1st couple hours and last couple hours and right around the 50/50 the whole day. For the pic i turned the knobs too the whitest setting.

Dang I thought that you needed a certain par for corals but after seeing this I might not add no more light to my tank because I have 1 a360we and 1 a160we light on a 46 gallon bowfront tank but right now I'm ramping the lights intensity up because I was really low but now I have it upto around 40 intensity and I raise it every week about 5 to 10 intensity
