Well it was time to rip down the standard 29 gal tank, and go with something more eye catching and pleasing for when we put the house on the market in the spring.

This was a fun build, and now I am kind of bummed there is not much else to do minus the tinkering and hiding the power cords.
The Tank:
I built the stand for a previous build I was going to do, but never went through with it. The tank is your standard 25gal Biocube with the internal guts ripped out and the back drilled for bulkheads. The return line is v'ed in two directions reducing the flow in the tank, and pushing water to the dead spots.
The return line is at a 45 degree angle letting the water roll down the pipe without having to tweak the heck out of it to stop the slurping and gurgling sound.
Lighting for the tank is a Kessil Deep Ocean a150w roughly 7 inches off the top of the water. I also DIY'ed up a clip holder for a mangrove tree onto the back of the tank.
The Sump:
The sump is an acrylic custom build I did to fit the inside diameters of the stand along with a custom built RO/DI water receiver that hold about 5 gallons to count for the evaporation of the tank since I have it as a screened open top. The return pump is a mag 7 that is dialed back by a ball valve to about 1/2 output. The turn over is roughly about 300 gallons an hour. The skimmer is rated for a 100gal tank, and is dialed down to not be way too much over kill on this set up(i could not beat the price of $30 for the skimmer)

On with the pictures.

Thanks for viewing, and if you have any questions.... please let me know.

Now did you pull the back plastic wall down too? Would love to see a couple of pics of the bulkhead.
Looks great btw:)

Here are a few lame pictures I took.. Sorry they are so blue..LOL
Yes, everything was removed from in the tank, I also removed the top cover to let more light in since I am not using the T5 setup. I screened the top (well most of) the tank to try and keep any jumpers in..lol
Placed the filter/skimmer on a 45 degree angle to stop the slurping sound.

Picture explains the rest. I used a back flow preventer so the water did not rush back to the sump and empty 80% of my tank if the power went out.

Looks like tomorrow will be a DIY day.. I'm going to work on building a bio-pellet reactor for my tank.
I found an easy DIY what will be perfectly awesome for my little 25gal setup. I just have to find a way to get it hooked up to the skimmer when I'm done building it.

Nice setup! I couldn't feed my BP reactor into my PS, so I placed the output directly on the intake of the PS. So far so good, I think??:)

I'm still trying to figure out how to hook up the BP to the skimmer.. LOL Since this is going to be a super nano skimmer, I will be running off of a spare 200gph-ish pump I have laying around. I do not thing it will be enough flow for the skimmer I currently own. I might make a fitting so I can run the output hose of the BP to a T fitting and slip that over the end of the PS. Then in all honestly, It should pick that water up along with any tank water it needs..LOL

Works in progress are a good time..LOL

Nice work. Everything is looking awesome. Your a real MacGyver , all you need is a snorkel, some string, and an avocado. Lol
