I bought this leather coral a few days ago and since putting it in my tank it's polyps are barely out and is slumped over very badly. I have touched it and it's quite solid, not mushy at all.

Currently it's placed in the corner of my tank in what I believe is quite a low flow area.

Sometimes they can do that for extended periods it should come around once it’s acclimated to its new home.. good luck

IME these corals tend to do best with moderate lighting and a lot of chaotic flow. This helps with the shedding process and keeps the coral free from detritus, algae growth etc. Having a secure base is also important. GL.

The neon leather I have seems to also like lots of flow but he just loves light and has grown to within a couple inches of the water surface, I keep trying to reposition it so it doesn’t shade its lower neighbors.. now I’m pushing it back and wedging sharp rocks up against it to keep it at bay.. lol

Well I pulled the leather from it's place to move it and I notched a fair amount of flat worms on it so I just binned the whole thing, didn't want the headache of some surviving after a dip and reproducing all over the tank although they could have moved else where but we'll see.

I've had mine for over 4years. It does this also from time to time. Next thing it's all happy again.

If they where on your leather your tank is most likely already infested, you may want to keep an eye on your other corals or consider tank treatment if needed
