I have some Led's sitting around the house and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this LED. These are the spec of this Light fixture "Light Source:10 white Lighting Emitting Diodes (LEDs)
Designed at 7v-16v, 2 amp, 950 lumens" With this light fixture and add some Blue/Purple Led with it in a DIY box. Would this set up be great enough for a 10g nano SPS only.

To add to this the 10g nano will be plumbed into a 40gB that has been running for 2yrs.?

I'm a little confused......and that's easy to do......an LED at 7 to 16 Volts and running at 2 amps seems a bit on the high side. Can you provide other information about the LED's.....brand, watts, manufacturer?

As far as wiring, it's an auto light.....so a 12 volt, 2 amp (or higher) wall wart would work.....HERE's an example.

Bottom line, you don't want that light for a tank. A 1 watt LED has poor penetration.

Dang they are really bright, oh well. But 1 watt setting on a 10g 12 inch tall tank? If you dont think they would work thats ok. Whats a good LED for a 10g standard tank

Can you switch the LED's out of higher Watt LEDS?>

Try a Par30 lamp. Are you looking for something full spectrum or just a white? I'm using the Reef Radiance DM-7e on my refugium ATM and this lamp is awesome with great spread. My fuge is 13Lx13Dx17H
