I conquered red slime in this tank but now gha has taken over with a vengeance! Installed my Aquamaxx HOB skimmer, trying some Vibrant, and picking up on the water changes. Did some major manual removal today to help start things off. Also added an urchin and some more snails.

You did put H2O2 on the algae areas while they were out right?
Scrubbing can spread this stuff
not trying to thread jack here. But if i have some branching live rock that has been overrun with GHA could i technically remove this whole piece and do a H202 bath? obviously theres no corals attached but will this kill the live rock? Thanks in advance Twilliard

Sadly I forgot to use h2o2 but everything was scrubbed out of the tank and rinsed before going back in.
Right on that will help :)

Yes you can. It doesn't "kill" the rock but it does oxidize the surface. When I do full rocks I take 1 bottle of H2O2 and pour that into 4 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket (or container to fit large rock). Let this sit in that for 5 minutes. The longer it is kept in there the deeper it reaches into the rock. 5 minutes is typically good for algae.

Awesome! Thanks again! gunna give this a shot in my biocube.

Bringing in the big guns now! Picked up 5 turbo snails at the LFS as reinforcements and the ones they had in stock were pretty big, some are just bigger than a golf ball.
