Anyone keep the fish? What do you keep it in, with what fish?

Looking to keep one in a 20g with a pair of clowns, a semi aggressive tank.

It's one of the options I'm looking toward with this tank.

Also looking for info on Geometric Pygmy Perchlet!

Thanks!

I have one. One of my favorite fish. It's a bit aggressive towards some of my other fish like my fairy wrasse but the other fish are too fast for it and the hawkfish won't chase for long. We will dart towards other fish but I haven't seen any damage done. I don't think one will bother a clown pair at all. You likely won't be able to keep any small shrimp like peppermints. I'd rather have the fish than a shrimp though.

Thanks! I'm torn between these and Perchlets. I wanted to have shrimp in this tank , but I think I'd rather go with the hawkfish or perchlet. My next build can do alot of shrimp.

I wonder if they would fair well with a coral banded if i decide to get one of those instead.

Quick edit: That picture is GORGEOUS.

Those 2 fish are very similar so you may have trouble keeping both in a 20. If any shrimp could hold it's own it would be a coral banded, just make sure to get one the hawk can't swallow and they can swallow a lot more than they look like they can.

I don't want both. One or the other.

They are cool fish. Mine was very aggressive though. It hated my 6 line wrasse, green chromis, and even bothered my scopas tang at times. It's worth a shot though, each individual is different.

I was at my LFS and saw one of these. He had a great personality. I passed on him because I don’t know this species very well and didn’t know if my tank was big enough.

I love the fish but I'm debating catching and giving it away. It has started to chase my Firefish and Rainford Goby, they both hide all day until feeding time. The Rainford would sift the sand all day all over the tank, now it's just sifting around it's cave until it gets chased back in. Never had a problem with the shrimps (cleaner and fire) because of their size. The Falco was added last March and earlier this year is when it started chasing the other fish.
