Currently in the process of setting up a new frag tank dims are 60"x24" and about 8" deep. I wanted to ditch the T5s and use LEDs on the tank, and right now leaning towards the AI units. Going by what I've seen in some of the other threads I would need 3 24" fixtures to cover the entire tank. Or is this kind of overkill for such a shallow tank? I would say at least 50% of the coral in the tank will be sps. I also liked the idea of having the lights all the way up by the ceiliing so the light fixture doesn't take the focus off the tank. Any thoughts or recommondations?

Currently my only experience with LEDs are the ecoxotic white LEDs I use for my refugium and a marineland 36" fixture I use as supplemental lighting on my display tank. The marineland one is great, the corals that get the LED light definitely look and grow better, but it has to be manually switched from blues to whites and back to blues everyday.

The funny thing is the refugium is getting more coraline algae growth than my display tank thanks to the ecoxotic white leds.
