Hey everyone,

I just order 2 AI Prime HD lights with the 12”mount for my 75g (48”) tank. I plan on doing a few corals, not a lot. I only went with 2 because it has a support beam in the middle. Would the two be enough or should I do a third and put it off to the side a bit and angle it towards the middle?
Also, I have glass lids on the tank, any reason why I see most people not have lids? Does it mess with the shadowing/ripple look?

Before I switched lighting I had two primes on my 55 and I strongly believe it was not enough light for my tank my parameters where all very solid. Tried sps over and over again finally switched lighting and everything turned around and can grow sps fairly well now. I switched to a sunpower. Really just depends on what corals you want to have.

2 lights will be enough for some corals. You could cheat the 2 leds to one side to create high light and low light zones, specific to needs. I have a prime HD on a waterbox nano. Love the adjustability, brs suggests a spectrum.
Regarding covers, I like the 1/4 inch screen plastic custom. I think it passes the most light. Glass and solid acrylic might block some useful (uv) part of the spectrum, is heat trapping and prevents cooling fan use.
