Good morning reefers!

Newbie here. I have a fluval 13.5 and looking to do some upgrades. So far I’ve swapped the stock return pump for a Eheim compact 1000, added a random flow generator and added an in tank media basket into chamber one.

I’m currently looking at upgrading the lighting and have come across the lumini pixie 30. Does anyone have any reviews for me? I don’t intend to keep Acro’s or anything at the moment but just want to make the corals ‘pop’ when I do add them.

Cheers

Do you have any links to the fixture so we can see the specs?

Here you go ...

Model: Pixie 30
Suitable Tank Size: 45-60 cm long cube tank
Actual Power: 26-30watt(Light intensity can be dimmed to 0%)
Voltage: 100~240VAC/24VDC
Emitting Color: Full spectrum with multi color
LED Source: COB LED with 24pcs chips
Light intensity is dimmable from 0% to 100%
-CH1: 6pcs Blue LEDs
-CH2: 6pcs White LEDs
-CH3: 3pcs Blue LEDs + 2 pcs Royal Blue LEDs +1 pcs Purple LEDs (LOOKS DIM AND WEAK is normal)

For a tank as small and as shallow as a 13.5g tank is, this fixture is probably a reasonable choice. 26 to 30 watts isn't a lot, but then the tank is small. A basic black box fixture would have 55 leds, rateed for 3 watts each, but only driven to around 1.8 to 2.2 watts each. That would make about 100 watts to 120 watts. A fixture that would do VERY WELL over your tank and could still work over a 20" or 24" deep tank later.

Really appreciate your feedback

So the lumini pixie is a good choice for the tank? What corals could I potentially keep? In terms of softies I like an array of zoas and mushrooms but would prior to keep some lps’ variety’s too. Would some of the easy to keep varieties be ok with that lighting?
