I assume you would need the epoxy coated magnets? Not sure if the rubber coated ones are safe for your tank.

I've been meaning to order some for these guys...mostly for those little tiny powerheads.

I figured I'd revive this one.

They have a pull strength of almost 3 pounds. Super glue a few of them to the crate and you are in business. You'll have a more cost effective version of this.

Whatever you do don't buy this thing ... it's garbage.

I used a broken tunze magnet for my rack and there is nothing that is taking that down. It's so powerful. My only issue is it took a $100 pump to make a simple rack. The pump broke and I threw it away before I found out that Tunze would replace the broken part. I'm an idiot. An idiot with the most expensive frag rack in the world.

I like Frag Mags. I tend to mount a piece of LR rubble to the magnet, and then mount the coral to the rubble. That way the coral can encrust on the rubble, it's easier to remove, and I think it looks better.

Doesn't that make the magnet fall... obviously not because your doing it but what I mean is it's added weight. How much weight can they hold. I have them but I'm afraid to use them incase corals get too big.

So far so good with the Frag Mags. They used to be sold in small, medium, and large with regard to magnet strength. They now only come in one size thats stronger than the old large. They're stronger than they look.

Those SureGrip magnetic powerhead holders are insanely strong. I have my two MJmods and my heater all attached to them. I'll never go back to suction cup mounts. Just watch your fingers!
