Hey guys

When plumbing and making a manifold to come off main return, what size pvc tubing and fittings should I be using to be able to fit most things in future like reactors, algae scrubber, etc?

My main return line is 1” pvc. I was thinking of keeping the manifold also 1” and using TEEs with 1/2” outlets since I’m seeing brs and phosban reactors use 1/2” tubing for gfo, carbon, reactors.

Any opinion?

I would suggest sticking with 1" until you are at or past the shut-off for the port. That will give you the ability to have larger items if needed (such as a UV or algae scrubber) and you can always step it down for smaller items (such as reactors).

I agree. Keep the return size and manifold the same and just use the T's. My manifold is 1.5" with T's.
