Maxima Clam will not open.

I have a Ultra Blue Maxima Clam that I purchased at the Frag Swap a couple weeks ago. It only opens so that the mantle is exposed.
That is the way that it looked when I bought it. Will it open all the way. Anything I can do to encourage that? Thank You

I would try to feed it some phyto, occasionally mine will do the same thing, but when I squirt a little food it's direction it always comes.out.

Do you have any Fish that are nipping at it? Sometimes they just need time to adjust to their new enviorment, Does it react to your hand being moved over it? As this is one way to tell if it's still healthy or not.
