First a little back story. I purchased a baseball sized pincushion urchin a few weeks ago. He's very cool but a real bulldozer. He has knocked over a bunch of corals and one rock. The rock fell onto 1of the 2 heads of my Duncan. That head is still all retracted, not sure it will recover.

At this point it was
A. Take the urchin back to lfs
B. Glue the corals and smaller rocks down with epoxy
C. Glue the dang urchin in one spot

I picked option B

Unplugged skimmer for 24 hours as epoxy directions stated.
Now at 24 hours & 36 hours the skimmer goes nuts and produces tons of micro bubbles. With my sump there is only two compartments with a coarse filter pad separating skimmer chamber from the return section.

Recommendations? I plan on changing out 25 of my 125 gal today and trying the skimmer again.

Over 48 hours now and the skimmer is still putting out tons of micro bubbles. Help!

Epoxy makes skimmers go crazy. In my 65 gallon tank my skimmer will over flow for about 24 hours. I usually leave it running with the cup off untill it stops over flowing. If your experiencing microbubles you could just wait it out. Water changes would help also

In my 60 gallon, even small amounts of epoxy will cause my skimmer to overflow, sometimes for a day. If your skimmer is still overflowing, I agree that a water change would be beneficial. Let us know how it goes!

Still going nuts, maybe not as bad. I have done another water change. So far about 55 gallons out of 125 g total. Wet skimming and adding water as it skims. I swear I will never use epoxy again!
