Microbubbles Deltec sc1456

Sinds a couple off weeks suddently i having trouble with microbubbels from my skimmer a deltec sc1456. This is the first time this is happening to my skimmer, inal ready cleaned the skimmer twice and clean him till its brand new anybody aware of this problem ?

HI there, Thanks for the post I am Adam and I've been heading up Deltec here in the US about year now.

Its a little tough to see in the video but are you saying micro bubbles are coming out the exit pipe and making their way through the baffled refugium area and into the display? just to be sure


Couple quick questions, How long have you had it running, and how deep of water is it sitting in about? Also what size is the system its on?

Thanks Battlecorals for ur reaction! Yes they are comming out of the exit pipe as i can see... Its running for a + year now its running on a 500 liter tank, maybe the water hight is not good that al and is that the problem ? 26cm thats about 10 inch i think ?

Hey awesome, thanks for the pic. Tank looks great. I had peek at your other thread as well.

Cleaning it may actually exacerbate the problem a little, at least till it slimes up some inside there. I would bet that any residual bubbles you are seeing come out the pipe will subside as it breaks back in pretty quickly.


A couple thoughts,

You can try dropping the water level in there just a little or raising the skimmer an inch or so. At 10 inches your water is about an inch over the recommended water height not huge issue really being at 10" but lowering the water height may help. Looks like you could open up the valve a little and let it skim dryer as well. That would help raise the bubble mass in the skimmer body a little.


In all honesty, I wouldn't say the bubbles are really an issues unless they are making their way through the cheats and into the return area. Are you seeing a fair amount of micro bubbles in the display?

Thanks for the compliment m8 i love my tank to [emoji2] i had the bubbles already before cleaning my skimmer. some of the bubbles are making there way in to the display tank, the other problem is that the bubbles are lifting my algea [emoji85] i can try to crank up the skimmer a little bit tomorrow i think ! And try to tweak it a little bit to, maybe that will be the trick [emoji16] we shall see ill keep posting updates about the progress !

Did some changes today at my skimmer [emoji2] water level is now 22,5 and did some changes at the controller and standpipe still seein some microbubbels i will check it out in a few days if they dissapear.
