Hi reefers, I recently noticed that I haven’t seen my six line wrasse for a while. Didn’t know how long he’s been missing but definitely more than a few days. I just added a sailfin tang two weeks ago, and that could be why. I’ve checked the back chamber and the floor (my tank has a lid, so it’s very unlikely he jumped out), no luck. What’s the chance that he’s still alive?

Hi, what size tank ? parameters in check ?

These fi can be great hiders but also great jumpers and not unusual to find them in overflows or down overflow pipe into sump
Regretfully to say, check the floor around the tank and overflow before going into searching rocks.

Hopefully he shows up for you, but if not would not worry as long as everything is good .

I think it's totally likely he's just a great hider. I've had my sixline for over a year now and I still don't know where it sleeps!

Don’t give up we had one wedge in a crevice of rock during a transfer only to find him the next day in an inch of freezing cold water in the bottom of a tote. He was perfectly fine till he jumped out of the new tank.
