Mobius App - Connection Timeout

Can not log in as well, now I have a question. If the devices are all Bluetooth connected, why are we logging in to their servers just to work our pumps and so on. Would it not be a better idea to just allow the app to connect to the devices without having to connect to the server and have other functions on the app connect to the server?

And make slave pumps go to 0% when in a master slave config
Please fix your crap app. If i cant get a app the ecotech crap works with consistently then i will just go with Hydros or my neptune and ditch your pumps. Too many issues with these pumps and controller for the amount they cost.

I guess so that they can collect data on us. See what schedules, settings, lighting spectrum, pump settings we are using. Either to improve their product or to sell the data.

Suggestions on new pumps and app to manage my reef with? As long as they work consistently and have an app I can set up a gyre type flow then i dont care at this point. Would even take cheap chinese knockoffs at this point.

Hydros, there’s a way you can use the Ecotech pumps with their system.

you can bypass mobious with wmx for pumps on the Apex ....i believe. It least there is a way around that . But for devices such as the Versa, zero options.

Wondering if there is an update on the way. Talked with Ecotech a month or so ago to recommend a function for Mobius and they told me that their engineers liked the idea but were very busy working on other things like the WI-FI capability for Mobius among other things. I wonder if that update is ready.
Aparently 2 years isn’t enough to write code for a technology that’s been around for decades. Made a massive investment in the company and they’re not going to deliver on their promise. There’s already a new generation of lights out and they haven’t finished the last one. Pathetic. I’ll never buy from Ecotech again. The fact that they had time to roll out a new product line but not support their current product line for their invested customers tells you exactly where their priorities are.

I'm not sure if my issue is the same as what's described here. (XR30 G5 Pros x 2) I never had any issues prior and although it may not have had that refined feel to it, until recently, Mobius has been fairly flawless. Now it's near useless.

When I open Mobius it opens ok and although it seems a bit slow, it will list all the devices and display the flow of the MP40's. The issue for me starts when I try to get into the light settings. The blue circle swirls around a bit but instead of showing the 'edit' button in the center it will come up with "couldn't load settings" and a cancel & retry button.

All this seemed to start shortly after the G6 release. @Tim at EcoTech can you shine any light on these problems?? PLEASE!? I can't change my lighting! I can't update my lights! Now several characters of the serial number are displayed as a diamond with upside down question mark.

Yes, set and forget...unless you were attempting to slowly increase par and suddenly found the only way to access your lights was to delete them from the tank via factory reset and re-add them. Doing that erases all the settings. I did restore the daylight conditions, except I forgot about ramp-up/down and the moon lighting. I could start all over again but why should I have to do that every time I want/need to make a change?! :disappointed-face:
This has been my experience as well. A little tip - the problem seems to be isolated to just the XR30s for me so if you put your lights on a separate aquarium within Mobius, you can access all your other devices on your original aquarium no problem (Vortechs, Versas, etc.). I know a workaround like this shouldn't be required at all, but it was helpful for me especially since I use Versas for alk/ca/mag and have to adjust the dosing rates a few times per week.

Yup. I can’t even login. They need to fix this crap. Make it so even if we can’t connect to mobius network or something we can at least manage our devices. I’m really thinking about downgrading so I can control with apex

So glad I found this post. I was about to lose my $h1t because I couldn't connect to my gear today. I use it daily to put my pumps into feed mode. I reset all my gear, uninstalled the app, restarted router, etc.
Glad to see it's not just me and appears to be an Ecotech issue.

Ha same here! Thought I was going crazy good thing I came here to check if others had issues

These things always happen on the weekends and there is no one staffed to resolve. I reported the problem to Ecotech and just got an automated email response. We reefers are busy working on our aquariums on weekends. I know this is a summer weekend but our aquariums are still running!!!
