It depends on the type of sps. I've had flags that wanted high flow and a lot of light then I've had it where it didn't want near as much light. Parameters is the big thing with sps even the slightest spike or decline could take out most the crop. I've lost a lot of mine from temp swings going down to low 60s and then my heater being to high and the tank bouncing to mid 80s
