I have had this piece for over 6 months and it has had great growth and color. Walked in to check on the tank this afternoon and noticed a bleached spot. It kinda of looks like the tissue is receding. All other SPS is doing great with good color. Haven't changed anything and everything is stable. I am going to monitor it and see if there is anything bothering it.

What do you think?

That's definitely necrosis as the colony looks great. If it continues I'd break that piece off. Keep an eye out for pests.

I think I am going to break it off anyways and put it in my frag tank for now. I have been dosing Vibrant for 4 weeks now. It dropped my Nitrates and Phosphates down to 0 and Dinos started. I started dosing Nitrate and Phosphate over the last 2 weeks and Dinos have cleared up completely. Nitrates have been sitting at around 8ppm and PO4 at .05 for the last two weeks. I haven't fed reef roids in a couple weeks so I decided to feed last night. Just tested and my NO3 is at 12 and my PO4 is at .18. Do you think that could have done something?

Salinity - 1.026
Alk - 8.28 Trident, Hanna - 8.2
Calcium - 470 Trident, Hanna 454
Mag - 1412 Trident
No3 - 12ppm - Red Sea
Po4 - .18ppm - Hanna

A sudden drop in nutrients could definitely irritate the coral, vibrant wreaked havoc in one of the tanks I had and I believe it was due to rapid decline in nutrients. Just try to keep things stable at this point.

I dont touch that vibrant stuff , so I cannot say either way how i feel about it. Thats a beautiful colony really dig the pattern. Im a sucker for caps, the colony as a whole looks fine I hope it was like a freak accident with a hermit or something that maybe fell onto it or damaged it but the section you took should prevent any stn from hitting the colony .

Vibrant has cleared up my GHA and now my bubble algae is atleast 50% better. It did drop my nutrients down to where Dinos kicked in. Other than that it hasn't been an issue.

Thank you. Hopefully it is fine now as well.
