Sorry to hear about the fish loss. So everything in the pool was previously in the tank, ie water, rocks? What about sand? Water was heated? Any chance the plastic of the pool was not reef safe?
Everything was from the existing tank
I didn’t transfer any sand .

And the only rocks that went into the pool
We’re the ones with corals on them
.
The pool was washed with vinegar and rinsed well before filling. .
But who knows if it was actually reef safe or not

I opened a window last night and the temp in the tank dropped .to low 70’s this could be the cause of the Xenia melting . But I had far too many anyways.

Closed the window and the heater has been on most of the day .

Just seems odd that the fish died so quickly given everything was basically the same. Was there aeration? How long were they in the pool? What symptoms did they display before dying??

There was a wave maker in there
They were all
Swimming around when the I went to sleep

Im
Thinking …..
Could it have anything to do with the 2 rocks or palys ?
This is the only thing I can think of and the only thing that’s been the same for the last few
Moves that has been in the tank they were also in the pool

Perhaps. Hard to say. Maybe the palys.

Next move …
I’ll be selling everything and starting over .
Its a hard decision. Starting over has its own challenges too. Id "reset" the tank but keep the rocks only (and livestock if you can). Ive done tank starts with established rock and new dry rock and ill NEVER use dry rock again.
