Found this site hoping it’s busier than some of the other reefing sites

I set up my tank about 4 months ago. Mushrooms,Zoas and GSP were the goals.
Didnt want to test the water very much. All water is purchased from the local flowed shop

Everything was going good. I was feeding reef roids 4x week. Mysis to the Duncan’s. Couldn’t resist them. Lol. Then the algae hit. Glass was covered. Corals were struggling.

Decided to kill the lights for a few days. Then slowly ramp them back up to about 50%. The tank looked rough after the 3 days. I did a 3 gallon water change and walked away for a day.

Well that seems to work. I added some additional cuc and everything is going great again. My sixline wrasse is fat and happy.

I do weekly less than a gallon WC. Take a vial of water to the shop every few weeks for some basic testing.

mushrooms are now splitting, Duncans are growing mult heads. Zoas are spreading slowing.

always open to suggestions. Coralline algae would be nice. Lots on my plugs but no new growth noted yet

Looking good! I hear you about not being able to resist with the duncans, lol! That's one happy wrasse.

Less than a gallon WC is pretty nice! With good testing like you're doing things must be pretty stable, so hopefully coralline isn't too far away.

Good luck - will look forward to seeing it grow up!

And welcome btw - fairly new here myself. Watch out for the coral sale adverts...dangerous for your wallet!

Testing is minimal unless I have a issue. Stability comes from small weekly WC.

I use a nicrew 30 watt led on a dual channel timer for lighting and a wave maker. Keeping it simple

Hands off as much as possible. Do daily top offs. That’s it.
