Newer to saltwater game. Have a 16 gallon. With 3 clowns. Zoanthids and Xenia. Inverts of many sorts. I have been thinking about getting an anemone. And words of advice? Just curious about what they're like to take care of and be warned about.

Thanks all

I have 2 red bubble tip anemones. Depending on what kind you get, some can be very aggressive while others can keep to themselves....they move around your tank until they find a spot they like. I have my two in a 14 biocube and they seem really happy. If you get an anemone don't be alarmed if you see them shrink up a lot, I've come to learn its just what they do and if u get a bubble tip don't be alarmed either if they don't bubble up, some do and some don't....they have a mind of their own :)

If i were to put an anemone in a small tank i would look at the rock anemones. They're smaller and if you look around you can find some with nice contrasting colors.
I have a bubble tip anemone in a 90 gallon tank and he/she takes up alot of space and likes to walk around.
The rock anemones more often than not stay put.
Look up tidal gardens on YouTube. He has a good video of anemones.

I would just make sure if you want an anemone it's one of first thing put in because then it'll have a chance to wander around to find its preferred spot without it killing the corals

I would be interested in knowing what lighting you have and how old is the tank. Anemones can be tricky and they need stable water parameters.

That size tank I think I'd consider an alternative that does not wander across corals or into nearby pumps or intakes, frogspawn or hammer maybe.
3 clowns may become an issue in that tank as they mature, a pair is best really, especially in small quarters.

My tank is 7 months. And doing well. I have marine orbit lights 16 inch. Water parameters have been well. Zoa and xinea starting to take off growing.
