Hi all,

Sorry, this might be a common thing and easy to fix, but I am new at this. I have set up my tank and sump about 3 months ago, cycled with 8 fish, 4 snails, 3 cleaner shrimp.

My tank and sump keep getting this rustly looking to it, I am easily able to clean it off the sand and the glass but now it's starting to get over everything including my rocks. I read one forum that said it was Phosphate levels two high, but my current levels are 0.003 mg/l.

My other water parameters are
8.33pH
Free Ammonia 0.001ppm
Alkalinity is 10.9 dkH
Nitrite 7ppb (0.007ppm)
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 0.25mg/l
Magnesium is high over 1500mg/l might need some advice on how to lower this as well?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Need some pictures most likely new tank uglies/diatoms and will settle downs anywhere from the 6 - 12 month mark. Also look to increase ye nitrate levels , you don’t want to battle Dino’s lol

sorry photos arent great but here whats left as I was just cleaning
