Anyone available to come over this evening and help me get a return 3/4" bulkhead in? I can't get this thing in leak free to save my life and the tank is 70% full and I'll need those overflows really soon.

Never mind I figured it out. I am an idget. I tightened it so much I was forcing the seal through the hole. Luckily I had two spare seals. So I replaced them, put the bulkheads back in just hand tight and then added a 3/4 turn with the tool. No leaks now.

Well right bulkhead leaked some. Dried it off and added another quarter turn *crossing fingers*

You may also want to try rubbing plumber's grease on the gaskets to create a good seal. It is usually found in the plumbing aisle at the hardware store. Just make sure it is 100% silicone.

wow I have never heard of the plummers putty on the seals that is a great tip thanks so very much. How could I have missed that one. There was a how to put in a bulk head on another place. Is there one on reef 2 reef. It is very helpful and a great refrence to people. Helps when you have all the right info in one place.
