Need help identifying this Algae

Hello everyone looking for some help identifying this algae.

Yikes!

I had an explosion of what looked like that in a tank after I added dry rock without cycling it.

Is this a new development and have you made any recent changes?

This is not a new development it has been around for a long long time.
the biggest change as of late is upgraded tanks(90 to 150) upgrade

I did not use live sand.
used water from the old tank
used rocks from the old tank.

again this has been around for a while and thought at it would clear up on its own.

I stoped by my lfs and they recommended flux Rx?
i also have been doxing vibrant for the last 2 weeks. Haven’t sent much change yet.

any other advice?

From all I been reading the vibrant takes up to 9 weeks and do t expect much in 2 weeks. Especially if bad. Don’t expect anything to work fast as it took a long time to get like that.

I would suggest pulling as much as you can manually and continue vibrant. That will work much faster and will help limiting g the nutrients back Into the water as it dies

Should I try the flux rx with the vibrant?
pull out what I cant manually too?

I would not combine multiple products. Remember nothing goods happens fast I. This hobby. But yes pull as much as you can. It is a tedious process but will pay off. What I did was pulled as much as I can then did a 15 percent water change siphoning as as the pieces broken off as possible then started doing the vibrant. I found it didn’t grow back and slowly deminished. I was also able to pull a couple rocks and scrubbed in the tank water from water change. This is my opinion

Good advice.
pill try the pull and suck method.

would It be silly to try and put the water I took out back in the tank? Run it through a sock before going back in.
