found a local selling the following 8 months old:

eshopps rs-200 sump
current-usa satellite + pro
2 koralia power heads (unknown model but for a 110 gal tank)
2 sicce voyager 2 (800 gph)
reef octopus classic 150 int

he asked $250 and I agreed.. this would go in a 90 gallon reef tank.

My plan is to make a hybrid with the current usa lights and 4 more t5 lights 2 on each side.

Eshopps is going to a friend who is building a 75 gal reef.

opinions?

I think the Eshopps sump (and in fact, I've found this with most of their acrylic boxes) is junk. They aren't thick enough and almost inevitably start bowing. Had it both with my sump and my ATO reservoir.

Your not going to be running a sump? The lighting looks sufficient to me
yes i am building a sump. eshopps sump size is too small for what i want. my sump will me 36 inches long, eshopps is only 30 inches long.lights i am planning a hybrid. just the current usa is not enough for sps

Sounds like a decent deal and a smart move to not use that sump.
so I am going to pass on this deal. i don't think the skimmer and lights are worth to me atleast the asking price... i am looking at the eshopps s-200 sump which i think will handle better then the reef octopus that handled less water. unless someone disagrees with me .

Looks like a pretty good deal! If you are looking for a new sump you should check out some of Bioteks items. They have a lot of great features and look really sleek on any set up. They come in a good many sizes so odds are you can find one that will fit your tank. As for the skimmer. It is a decent skimmer but it has their aquatrance pump on it and they are know to fail and fry tanks. I would save up and either get one without the cheap pump. Reef Octopus makes a good many skimmers now that come with bubble blaster pumps, as well as their new varios pump. Both are great options. Aquarium specialty also has everything you need for mounting your t5 bulks once you are ready to do so. Happy reefing!

book marked you guys.. thanks for feed back. i am little confused cause you said it looked like a good deal, but then you go into the aquatrance pump for the skimmer and the sump. whats your opinion on the eshopps s-200 skimmer for a 90 gallon tank?

The eshoppss-200 is the sump and it is a OK starter sump but there are definitely a lot better sumps out there. As for the skimmer and pump. They are OK, besides that I would just like to have something reliable with a good strong pump that will last. The classic 150-int definitely can handle a tank that size so no worry there. unless you put like 30 fish in it LOL. Wouldn't advise that! If you have any other questions feel free to email me at

I can definitely help you pick some really great products for the price and lead you in the right direction. Thanks!
