Hi R2R ...

Currently have a Red Sea Max Nano 20 g

so when I first got my tank I decided to go with sand but really really fine sand ... I’m having a hard time already with coral placement due to sand blowing... so now I need help with what’s best ... I do plan on going SPS dominant in this tank.. should I siphon the sand and add Carib sea reefer sand ? Which is supposedly thicker and can’t blow away ... or go strictly bare bottom ...with unlimited flow ? I heard it’s a lot easier with bare bottom .... I just don’t want to make the wrong move and my whole tank crashes and fish die-over something I should’ve figured out before buying the tank .... but it’s my first tank and I’m learning Everyday, I’m very committed into maintaining the tank daily ... so whatever you suggest please comment and let me know the SAFEST way to do SPS dominant because I do plan on adding Zoanthids to the bottom As well.. I need help with what’s the best powerhead for a 20 gallon as well thank you

its really a personal choice. You did not say how long the tank has been running. Sand will not blow around as much when it develops bacteria.

hi vote bare bottom

Bare bottom tanks are good but you still need something to protect the glass incase any rocks fall. I went bare bottom and put bluestone pieces on the bottom.
