Hi all can you help me identify exactly what it is?

Gorgonian. MUST BE SUBMERSED. If it was taken out of the water, it will likely fall apart and may die. Looks patchy which makes me believe it was removed from water and exposed to air.

Came with Live Rock do you think it will make it? Or should I toss it?

Rumphella aggregata I think, a type of Gorgonian.

I'd put it in the tank and see how it does. But don't hesitate to toss it if it starts to fall apart

Thanks Vette do you think it will make it? It was shipped dry with wet paper towels came on live rock. If it's dead or dieing I have to get it out.

10 -4 looks like its shedding a little but pretty firm in the water when I move the rock around

Yeah on an order of live rock. I didnt order it just showed up.

It's a beautiful animal too probably 2' tall in height.

Shame on them BUT paper towels were once an acceptable shipping method. Place in tank and if it is alive will show polyps within 48 hrs. If it would die- will NOT foul your tank...… will just strip down to twigs

Dont think it's dead it is secreting mucus that's falling off and looks healthy under it and firm when you give it a good shake.

Yeah for sure I may just have to get a display tank it's a beautiful animal for sure haven't seen anything like it. It's a monster.

Yeah I kinda screwed up too sat at air cargo for 5 or 6 hours. Luckily it's not hot.
Idk hope it makes it because it is a fine animal!
