Tested yesterday after noticing some pieces that have been growing great, not looking so great... My Hannah ALK tested at 4.7 DKH... Red Sea Cal tested at above 500...

I did not do anything drastic, other then finally set-up the DOS I have had in the closet for a couple months. Got it all set-up to dose 10ml, of BRS ALK, a day at night. (19:00 to 0800). Will probably add another 10ml 0859-1859, after I test when I get home today. I have turned the CAL off until I can test a little more.

I was dosing ALK by hand (20ml DKH) every couple days, with routine weekly WCs. This was keeping my ALK around 6.2-6.7 (when tested). The past couple weeks, I have been slacking... So 5gal WCs planned for the rest of the week and hopefully everything is back up to snuff by the Frag Swap...

Also have set up a 20H QT tank in the bedroom. I have a Royal Gramma in there now, who should be up to therapeutic CU levels by friday. (This was due to the lose of the Diamond Flasher... Never again will I not treat proactively) Going to treat with 2 doses of GC after the CU treatment. Hopefully all goes well.

Gonna be a challenge over the next several weeks being as busy as your gonna be!
Sounds like a good plan of attack.

WC got it up to 5.7. After dosing 30ml over the past 24hrs, it dropped to 5.1. Upped the dosage to 50ml, and spread that to 20ml 00:00-09:59 10ml 10:00-17:00, and 20ml 1701-23:59. Hard for me to believe that a 40b/20 sump can absorb so much but I guess my corals are really sucking it up... Will be revisiting tomorrow after work, and setting up the shower venue. Hopefully the Trident will be released soon so I can seriously slack...

Negative, but that is a good point. Will pull both Red Sea, & Hanna tonight.

Do you know how these got so out of whack, precipitation anywhere?
Both should be used up with good growth going on. ( I do believe )
Your rocks look purple in your pic's, u got a lot of coralline growing?

I haven’t noticed any precip., and would attribute the wackiness to complacency. Slacking on consistency & attentiveness has brought this about. All of which is my own fault. The coralline grows as fast as the tux urchin mows it down... The theory is, it’s being used up, and I am not replenishing it as fast I should be. Which is why I have finally hooked up the DOS! Now, it’s just a matter of dialing it in manually, and waiting for the [emoji823]... lol. No time to pull numbers tonight, but will hopefully have a couple mins tomorrow.

I think that maybe, I could be getting better growth... ALK has been stable 6.2. However, I finally tested PO4 and it measured 6ppb or 0.018. I have what I think, considering tank size, extremely high light. 4 bulb T5 aquatic life hybrid, with a Radion XR30G4 at 70% with a diffuser. I have a very light bioload with only 3 small fish. I’m thinking of maybe cutting the Skimmer back to 12hrs. The only issue with me would be, when the Skimmer is off and not full of water, it increases the level of water in the return chamber. The Tunze ATO has been set-up with the Skimmer running. If I turn the Skimmer off, my fear is that the salinity will not stay as consistent. This maybe worse than low nutrients... Decisions... Decisions...

Wow, it is seriously like a night and day difference between using a DOS and maintaining proper ALK & CAL consistency, and dosing by hand, every once in a while... So far, everything is growing great.

Current ALK 6.9DKH & CAL 420ppm

Leveling out the total ml's dosed to keep them where there at. I can't believe I waited this long to do this!
