Hey all,

So I waited for my biocube to mature before adding a nem.

I added the nem yesterday and it looked fine. Today it looks like it’s on it’s death bed. I’m at a lost.

I have had this tank set up since August. I took off the rim and I am running the Current LED 18-24” model (I’ve tried another nem in my 125 Gallon with the same light and it never did well so I don’t know if it’s the light) running at 90% blues and 70% whites. On at noon and off at 9 PM.

Ammonia/Nitrate 0 PPM
Nitrate 5 PPM
I do weekly 25-40% WC using reef Crystals
PH 8.2
PO4 0-0.03
I have an RODI unit read 0 TDS on the output.

I can grow LPS and softies. Haven’t tried SPS.

Something is off pretty substantially for that to be the nems reaction in the course of a day. LFSs I know use TAP water and don't have nems exploding that quick. Lets see if we can hammer down the issue here. Temp I assume is good cuz the corals in the background look happy. Did the nem happen to sting and eat some tasty zoa poison before resting in that spot? The more info we can get the better we can try to help. The mouth gaping on that nem is a pretty dire sign sadly. Did you try to feed the nem as soon as it was in the new tank and if so what?

Give him some time he may just be adjusting...

Nems are tough and the first pic looks like it was just excreting waste. however i see you have Cyano on the sand bed and would suggest checking for the source of the excess nutrients causing it. NOW i know my nems like a little bit of dirty in the water, but you'll have to find a balance. best of luck with the new nem, its gorgeous
