New flame angel problem?

Wrap some seaweed around a rock, hold it in place with a rubber band, and put it near his cave opening. The others shouldn’t care about the seaweed but he should love it.

He is out in the open as of last night.. since last night he’s been in this corner of the tank which is directly behind the cave he had been in originally.

Although, I just fed the tank and he paid it no attention. I tried getting it closer to him as well using a turkey Baster, but no luck. I fed brine shrimp first. Then targeted some pellets to him which he had originally seemed to prefer. And still no luck. Yesterday I did notice he nipped at a couple scraps of food that floated by, but no active searching

Unfortunately, no. There are even pellets circling him right now and he’s not even nipping.

Is there any grazing available? I would try that, or frozen food. Pellets and flakes are the least exciting food for them.

Can't see closely in the picture, but he looks OK from that distance.

I fed brine shrimp first and basted it to him and no interest. Then I tried pellet. There is no grazing available really. I am going to get some nori and try that.

If you can get some Selcon … soak food in a few drops … I've used it successfully to get picky eaters use to eating in my tank. Good Luck

My angels love LRS frozen food in addition to nori. My Flame Angel loves: Reef Frenzy, nori & Hikari Mega Angel Marine (Hikari Mega angel has sponge). Feed quality frozen as well as nori. Flame angels need some sponges in their diet.

Sad to report that he didn’t make it. My first fish death. Really upset that I couldn’t get him to eat. I had just bought nori and was going to try that went I found him. he was a beautiful little guy.
