New from FL

Hello, I'm Alicia, a new reefer from Florida. I'm starting up a 75 gallon reef tank and will hopefully have some pics to share soon. I've been keeping myself busy with reading all of the beginner info I can find while patiently waiting for an electrician to come set up a good foundation with access to a generator switch.

Welcome from the Orlando area! You picked a great place to read and research. Tons of good people and helpful information here!

Thank you! I think it should be fairly straightforward. I figured it would blow the breaker if we attempted to run everything the aquarium needs plus the TV/DVR/game systems off the same receptacle, so we're having another receptacle installed. We already have a generator with a switchover box from the main breaker, we'll have it added there too.
Happy July 4th!

Thank you! How do you like World Wide Corals? I've been browsing their website and have been thinking about taking a drive to check them out in the near future.

I like them. I live closer to the Winter Park area, and TSA and WWC in WP are my LFS. I go there every week or two, and almost all of my fish come from WWC.

The corals are pricey, and I usually get most of my corals elsewhere because I can often find a better deal. But they do have some really good stuff, and they also have some good monthly specials usually. Last month was 3 zoa frags for $49, I was able to find a couple of nice frags in the group available for that promotion. They also have a generous rewards program.

The winter park WWC is small but “cozy” if that makes sense. I make the trip to the Orlando super store, about an hour from me with traffic, every once in a while just to browse and have some fun with my old man. The big Orlando store is really cool, and the display tanks are amazing. Make sure you head down there some time and check out the incredible giant lagoon tank. It’s one of my favorite tanks I’ve ever seen in 20+ years.

And if you ever make it over the the east side of Orlando/winter park area, the WWC WP location is about 2 miles down the road from TSA, so you can pop in and check out both stores easily!

Thank you! I'll definitely check them out. It's always fun to see the display tanks. Winter Park is about 1.5 hours from me, so not too far at all.
