Hey everyone!

I've lurked on this board for, shoot probably around 5 years now? So I figured I have done enough read-only and should finally start an account so I could interact with all of you fine people.

A small bio: had small FW FO tanks since I was a young boy, and have always been fascinated by the ocean and everything aquatic. I started into SW my first year in the Air Force in 2005 with a 75g FOWLER and exploded from there. At the end of three years, I ended up with two 75g mixed reefs, a 36g lps bowfront, a 20g clown breeding tank, and a couple 10 g quarantines all in my tiny 1 bedroom dorm room on base.
Needless to say, some people might say I had a problem, but they just didn't know what they were talking about, obviously.
I ended up having to take everything down in 2009 when I left for deployments and haven't lived anywhere long enough to start again.
Finally after a couple years of reefless depression, i separated from the military and can finally start again.

New build: I have acquired a new 120g for my DT, and plan on using my old 75g i saved as a sump. I will make a custom stand, and plan on a bean overflow to the sump. I may be getting a 55g hex tank that i would use as a fuge. I want an SPS dominated mixed reef, with lots of open area for fish.

So that's the plans. I have my brs ro/di in the mail, as well as powerheads. Still deciding on what dry rock i want. Still no controller, skimmer, or lights, but i will probably end up getting new stuff that i pretty much have picked out.

So that's me. And that's what I'm getting into. Happy to finally post and cant wait to meet you all... Officially, without feeling like a stalker.
So plan on a new build thread soon, and nice to meet you all.

welcome to R2R. thank you for serving! 1smile1

don't forget to start a tank thread when you get a chance. even if you don't have much atm, it'll be good to track the progress of the tank. :)

Welcome to the forum! I live in SLO during school... Have you signed up on the central coast reefers forum? They're pretty helpful and from central coast including SLO.

Welcome. I next to SLO in AG. There is a good reefing community here so welcome. The local reefers (CCRK) will be doing a Frag swap in the near future. Tropics in SLO is a good LFS.

Thank you everyone for the welcomes, and hopefully updates will come soon!

Welcome to R2R and thank you for serving. I love SLO!

Definitely do the C2C with the Bean Animal overflow. I have a 110 that I modified for this. It is so sweet, you will never want a different overflow/drain system.
