So it just swims around hoping to run into a PMW. Wow, what a life.

Very neet looking creature.

speaking of a limited diet. I have ordered some nudibranch that are supposed to eat aiptasia. If they eat all of mine, I will be able to share. It is all they eat. We will see. The order is shipped next Monday.

Talk about hijacking a thread.

What size are the drums.

55g was what I was hoping they were.

My water setup.

Yea, I have a 55 now. Was wanting to swap to two 30gal so I can have fresh and salt water ready. They were all over Craig's list but now everyone I talk to says they can't get them any more.

The vertical drum is waste water for my wifes garden, the horizontal barrel has a bung faucet and holds my rodi

What I mean is why did you put it horizontal instead of vertical? I put mine vertical, but figured you had some reason to do horizontal.

Yes, I went to the local ag supply store and got a bung faucet, a tap that goes into the bung so I turn the valve and drain what I need. Works real good too. No openings for pollutants to get into my water. I did drill through the bottom and put a float in the tank to shut off the water when it is full. Snake the line through a bung, pull it back with the float on the line, and tighten the nut

Railcar I have 3 questions.
1 is there any need for a float switch with the barrel being sealed?
2 if the barrel is sealed how does air escape when it fills with water?
3 do you know the deminsions on the 20gal barrels and how much are they?

I turn the top bung a couple turns loose so it doesn't pressurize or pull a vac. When I turn off the water (i never fully trust a float) I turn the top cap tight again.

Out here prices vary. Macs hardware sells them for $12, but most ag supply places give them away, if you are patient. I only take the 35% hydrogen peroxide barrels, give them a quaic rinse and use. Soaps and other chemicals take a lot of cleaning to make safe.
