Sorry if this is not the right location in the forum to post this feel free to move me around.
Hello everybody. I'm new to this site and stopped in for some assistance. I've had my FOWLR system for a little over a year now. It started as a 75 gallon tank that I bought already set up and running from someone that didn't take all that great care of it. He had it running for about 5 years he said. He had about 20-30 lbs live rock, 2 tomatoe Clowns and 2 convict worm gobies along with a few misc snails. He had a HOB filter from Marineland and a uv sterilizer that the bulb was burnt out in. 2 hydor circulation pumps. And a single white 48" floursent light.
I had added 40lbs live rock, bought a protein skimmer, replaced the filter with a newer one that matched the size of the tank, bought a 4 bulb t5 programmable light fixture.
I was much happier with the system after all of that. About a month ago I switched everything over to a 120 gallon-ish custom acylic tank I had my turtles in. Added some more cicurlation pumps drilled for overflow, diy made a sump, upgraded the skimmer, and have some more rock being shipped to me.
Well the other day I realized that the bow in the front of my tank is not supposed to be there. And along with that realization the small scratches on the front were not scratches but stress fractures or whatever we want to call them. So I began looking for a tank to get everything into before this thing bursts all over my apartment floor. Did some searching on Craigslist and came upon what I believe to be a gem of a tank. (Attached picture)
It's 72x18x23 approx 130 gallons. Glass is 3/8 inch thick.
It came with 2 Current USA 1023's which are discontinued and these are not in that great of shape whatsoever.
So now my problem is overflow for sump. I would prefer drilled over HOB. I will be calling a local glass place to see if they would do it for me but I need to know where to put them. I'm thinking two 1inch overflows for redundancy. not sure of placement, corners, both near center, ect. I also need to find out what size to get the holes cut if I'm looking at doing 1inch bulkheads.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
