Nitrate dosing still cannot raise

I started dosing loudwolf sodium nitrate 4 days ago. 250 gallons of aquarium water. Started at 1/4 tsp day 1, 1/2 day 2, 3/4 day 3, and today 1 1/2 tsp. Every day it reads 1 ppm nitrate using nyos and 0 using api. With the amount of dynos I am certain these readings are not far off. When I dosed the 1 1/2 tsp today, I tested before and 1 hour after. Same results. Should have gone up 4 ppm. Any idea what is happening, am I doing something wrong?

Keep at it, I was having the same problem with my 300 gallons. I think it was due to the Microbactor clean, but I was dosing over 600 ml of supersaturated sodium nitrate a day with a Neptune dose. I think it was over a week before the nitrates got up to 10.

I would also confirm with multiple test kits just to make sure you are not getting a false reading, and keep testing every day.

Sooooo I put like 4 tsps in today. Tested with nyos after every test. Still showing 1. I just tested with api and it is 40 ppm!!!!! Are my snails, shrimp, crabs, fish okay with 0 to 40 ppm?!?!

At first I used the cup I dosed the nitrate with and the api showed well over 160, I just about had a heart attack until I retested.
