I've had better growth using 26w CFL as opposed to the LED light I was using.

The 3w reds are way more power than what u had tho. The scrubber luis runs grows ***** algae

Yea the l2 has 6 3 watt red phillips and 1 3 watt blue Cree on each side.

Starting to see algae growth on the scrubber, and noticing the algae receding already! How many hours do you run lights on your scrubber?

Lol I've left mine on for 24 hours the past couple of days...kinda forgot to turn them off but the algae is loving it so far

I'd do more water changes. Smaller changes more frequently keeps the tank more stable and IMO is the best way to lower nitrates. I also have Purigen and DeNItrate (both by Seachem) adsorbers in the tank. My nitrates are always 10 or less.
