Hey. I was planning on adding my first fish this weekend. I just test my water again. Ammonia and nitrites are at 0 ppm but nitrates are at 20ppm after a few water changes over the past week. Should I do another water change and wait to add fish or is 20 ppm million ok? Thanks!

Nitrates do not really have an effect on fish until they get really high... like really high. 20 is not an issue for most fish.
Thanks. I don't mind doing another wc but I've done so many the last week that I wouldnt mind taking a break from it and FINALLY add some inhabitants lol

Few WC is less effective than one large WC.

I just experienced this not too long ago. I did almost 50% WC at one shot and it brought it down from 20ppm to 10 ppm immediately.

I figured if I start with 10 ppm is better than starting with 20ppm in term of doing correction when things get out of control. Just my2 cents.

Yeah. Idk I might do another one. I don't have an rodi right now so I have to keep lugging water from the lfs which is not fun but I'd rather have a stable set up.
