Noisy sump

Does anyone have the Triton 40 gal breeder sump baffle kit? Mines been up and running for 2 weeks and Ive got a significant “water fall” sound as the overflow falls into the filter sock holes. At first I thought it was the overflow itself so I set up a herbie drain. Now I realize it’s the water falling into the sock openings. I can’t raise the level of my sump anymore since I’ve already had to elevate my skimmer 2” higher that specs suggest. I considered running the drain straight into the sock holes but then the water in the rear reservoir (that it’s designed to fill and overflow) would stagnate. Can anyone suggest a solution?

I don't know if they work but they have sock silencer that go on top of the filter sock too spread flow into the socks like this
