not opening zoa

Hello to all, I have problem with my Zoantus. Thay growth but they do not want to open... Anybody have some idea?

Do you have a picture? Generally zoanthids that don't open just wither and die, they don't grow. Perhaps you mean something different.

Those look pretty unhappy. I'd suggest doing a dip in CoralRx or Revive. There is something bothering them. Looks like algae growing over some of them.

You should ask your friend to take the rock out and smell it... if it smell like rotten eggs then throw it away
bc it would leach out to the tank. They could release toxins in your tank. Looks like brown algae/fungus if found earlier
you can dip it to save it. Good website

Dip the whole rock. A method you can try if you don't have those dips is to put peroxide on the zoanthids directly and let it sit for a few seconds.

Great! I'm not sure what the black thing is but if its growing over the polyps then you should
use a tooth brush and brush it back or remove it. Do this in a bucket/bowl and not in your tank.
