Hey Reef 2 Reef,
For the longest time I thought that it was no problem to have green hair algae and other algae in my refugium. However, now I heard that it is bad to have it in there. Right now in my Refugium I have a big ball of chaeto and tons of other types of algae growing (Brown Algae, green hair Algae and who else knows). Is this okay? Is it normal? What should be done?

Thanks!

IMO I would leave it as it helps you with nutrient control.
The more algae in your sump the more export, of course keep it away from probes and all other equipment.

I use to get some occasionally. I always cleaned it out as soon as I saw it.
I use a powerhead to create flow in the refugium.
