So this is a file pic and not the pic prior to ship out?

if so then there is still an issue. A ship out pic given to customer shouldn’t be a file pic.
Not an issue for me as it was not sold as a WYSIWYG. It is as many retailers use an example of what fish looks like or will.
For this fish which sells by me for $399 at 4" and I get a 5-6" for $149- Not unhappy to say the least. It will grow fast enough. To get along well and eating as aggressive as it does with 23 other tangs- Im pleased.
You said you have a 20" Dussomieri which in 40 years the biggest ive seen was about 15-16". You have a pic?

Sure, didn’t play with camera angle or turn the light on but here it is

@vetteguy53081 do you QT your fish? Curious as you have an incredible collection. If NY procures these rarer tangs direct from the collector then maybe not as much of an issue.

I called NY aquatics twice regarding a dussomieri tang they had. Upon a lengthy conversation with Mike from NT aquatics,,,,,, we spoke about industry, practices and then his livestock. I proceeded to order the fish for next day arrival and stayed on the phone with me until order was confirmed, assured me how it will be packed, etc and provided great communication.
The fish arrived next morning at 9:20am.
The fish was Packed extremely well and heat packs were hot, In fact having a sore back from so much recent shoveling, I wore the heat pack which is just beginning to lose its heat delivery.
The fish was in perfect shape, eats like a pig and even ate in bucket during acclimation and did well for several hours in bucket until I shut lights off in the evening.
He WILL see me again. Here is fish below. Thanks again @NYAquatic

Quarantine is based on inspection. This guy was in bucket 11 hours including ruby rally baths, 3 water exchanges and behavior. I monitored with camera and very steady breathing, no itch/twitch and ate a few flakes- Went direct to tank. He had this fish a little over 3 weeks which was another factor I considered.
My desjardini was quarantined because he arrived with signs of stress.
NY does receive direct why his prices are so low

Pass the football im open! That's huge and looks great but I see you also have a beautiful Achilles Tang back there any chance of getting a picture of that beauty? Both Great fish BTW!
Lol. His name is Albert. The only fish I’ve named out of my collection or madness.

10+ years with me. He is my son lol

I’m never a photographer.., don’t have the patience or interest to be one.

That fish looks hungry, like it could eat all the food I put in my tank before anyone else gets a nibble. Very lovely tang, tangs guys. Nice info on the NY fish store. :)

My opinion of @NYAquatic is still undecided.

I payed for a choati leopard wrasse, choose pick up. Drove 5 hours in a snow storm(actually made the trip 6 hours because of the snow) to pick up the fish(very delicate fish I did not want shipped). Got there, and no fish anywhere. He had no idea what happened to it. Didn't know if they sold it, it died, or whatever. I was not happy.

I was told instead of a refund, he was getting more in next week, and would ship one out to me the following week. Were coming up on 2 weeks with complete radio silence. I do plan on calling them this morning.

So for now, my opinion on @NYAquatic is "still undecided".

So just a follow up as I emailed them right after I wrote this post..........

I got an almost immediate response from my email. Seriously, it was like 5 minutes from sending to receiving. So kudo's on them for the instant reply.

Apparently he did not get his choati's in that he thought he was getting. He did say he should be getting some this week, and will contact me about shipping if, and when they arrive.
