OD'd on Magnesium?

Hey all,
OD'd the tank on magnesium last week- bone head move- just realized it yesterday- it tested over 1500 (thats as high as my test goes and I had no color change at that point so Idk how high it was. I did a 20% wc today and its testing right at 1500 now.) How bad is 1500? Its a 220 so doing a 20% h20 change is 45 gallons, its not quick or fun. Should I do another one? I usually keep it 1400. Everything looks okay except star polyps wont come out and 3 fish I couldnt find yesterday. After the wc they came back out though. Thoughts? Thanks!

I've had my mag at 1500 for extended periods and never noticed any ill effects, with the possible exception that my chaeto may have suffered. However, I'm not sure if that was a direct result. Fish and corals no issues. I've seen some people even recommend that level of mag to help combat GHA.

You're fine, I've had tanks at 2200+ and have never noticed any harmful effects

Probably wont harm nothing but keep in mind when dosing magnesium we need to pay attention to the chloride and sulphate levels
