Oh rapidly dropping

I added kalkwasser to my ato last night to stabilize alk and bring my ph up a bit. It leveled my ph at 7.9 all night but this morning it dropped from 7.9 to 7.8 in an hour. I’ve never seen a drop like this before. Any ideas or suggestions?

Not to touch it.

Sounds like you have a lot of people in your place or something.

Running a higher alk also stabilizes your ph, low or high

You can try an outside line or a co2 scrubber on your skimmer.

Are you sure of the ph also? 2 different test kits confirm?

My best tank is the one with lowest ph that I dont fiddle with fyi.

Somehow my carbon doser was leaking. I could hear where it connects to the co2 tank

ONE OF THE RULES OF REEFING:

Never chase numbers. allow it to stabilize or gradually adjust. I have been running PH average 7.66 - 7.71 and leave it be and let my corals talk to me. If they're happy, I touch Nothing.

Is your furnace running a lot more these days?

7.9 to 7.8 pH isn't that great a difference. You should see your pH cycle up and down throughout a 24 hour period. It will also fluctuate if your furnace runs more, you have a large number of people in the house, and so on.

I wouldn't sweat it or change anything.
