So we all have containers of baking soda we use in our freezers. Can I bake them out and use em just like normal or not worth the risk?

Well baking it makes it not 'normal'. Baking it turns it to sodium carbonate which also can be used to raise alk, but much more than sodium bicarbonate and more effect on ph.

Baking soda can absorb things that you may not want in your tank and it's so cheap, I'm not sure why you'd take the time to bake it. Get a fresh box and don't worry about it.

I think it will be fine. Folks don't worry about food and cooking odors and such causing tank problems in most cases. :)

I actually use the old ones to wash apples for my daughters lunches. :)
