Old MH bulbs

What does everyone do with their old MH bulbs? Do they sell them? recycle? I like to keep a set of two for emergencies, but need to get rid of several 250W bulbs that are taking up space in the garage.

I tried to call about recycling flourescent fixtures (because of the mercury content) and was told by the Knoxville waste management people to throw them in the trash can or dump. I figure that is the answer you'll get on the MH bulbs. Sad, really, but good for business since I work for an environmental remediation company -- future work at a local location.

I have no useful advice other than that. I had collected my MH bulbs for 3 years and just gave them all to the guy who bought my fixtures. Passing on the problem...
