One Gallon Refugium?

My mixed reef is 75 gal size. I was thinking of using my HOB box with pump and light as a one-gallon refugium with chaeto and pods.
Is it even worth the electricity? Would it have any effect on CO2 or nutrient export?

I you already have HOB box, try it. If buying don't. Be ready for frequent WC

If your handy, be ready to build and use sulphur denitrator, use it then put it away when NO3 & PO4 are low
