Just got this guy this morning. At first breathing really heavily but within a few hours hes out and swimming with the exquisite wrasse. Didnt take any food but it excited him a little bit.

He seems to be doing ok other then he swims kind of vertically and its as if the tail is injured. Doesnt use the tail much and only uses its pectoral fins, or thats what it looks like. Head pointed up tail pointed down.

Not sure if its swim bladder or not. I think that makes them face down not up.

Any ideas. ?

Head up tail down is typically a spinal injury. Keep conditions as stress fee as possible. Low flow and you might have to spot feed with a baster or blunt syringe. All you can do if it is a spinal injury is give it time. Sometimes they heal sometimes they don't.

Swim bladder issues usually cause a fish to be upside down or tail up. Not able to right themselves.

Got a video? I had one and they are weird swimmers...... kind of “flutter” around sometimes.

Here is a pic of it from eaelier today. Can get a video tomorow.
There are times where it does swim "normal" like the exquisite in the pic. But 85% of time its upright at 45 degree angle like in pic. Somtimes it stands in one spot completly straight but only for like a second or 2.

I acclimate then net it out and put it in tank. When i netted it it was fluttering around so if anything thats when it could have got injured.
Was good at the store and in the bag. Nothing has picked on it and it stays out in the open.

Unfortunatly it had died by the time i got home last night. I appreciate the help though.
